TEPR – working with the EU for a cleaner Europe
TEPR has many years’ experience of working on sustainable transport policies for EU institutions including the European Commission and the European Parliament
EU policies play a fundamentally important role in delivering the international environmental commitments of its Member States, as well as in improving the environment in the EU, and thus the quality of the lives of its citizens. Policies focusing on the environmental performance of vehicles and fuels are developed at the EU level in order to ensure that the functioning of the single market is maintained.
TEPR’s research can contribute to improving the design and implementation of EU policies in order to ensure that within Europe we deliver a sustainable, low carbon future. TEPR works with the EU institutions to:
- Evaluate sustainable low carbon transport policies
- Develop sustainable low carbon transport policies
- Undertake Impact Assessments of potential sustainable low carbon transport policies
- Engage with stakeholders on the development of policies
- Work with stakeholders on the evaluation of policies
- Analysis of the EU’s low carbon and sustainable transport policies
TEPR uses its wealth of experience to work on projects that are related to improving the environmental performance of transport, particularly by reducing its CO2 emissions and its air pollutant emissions. This includes work on:
- Vehicle efficiency, including the Passenger Car CO2 Regulation (Regulation 443/2009)
- Sustainable, alternative, low carbon fuels
- Public Procurement including the Clean Vehicle Directive (Directive 2009/33) and the EU’s Green Public Procurement criteria for transport
- Consumer Information including the car fuel economy label (Directive 1999/94)
- Infrastructure charging, including the Eurovignette Directive
- Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and cooperative ITS (C-ITS)
